New Gloucester- Edward Christopher Lowe, 86, died April 12, 2017 in Auburn.
Born in New Gloucester September 27, 1930 a son of Edward C. Sr and Elsie Gay Lowe and graduated New Gloucester High School.
Ed worked for CMP for over 30 years as a dispatcher. As a testimony to his character and dedication to his community the New Gloucester 1999 Annual Report was dedicated to he and his wife Frances.
Ed served with the Volunteer Fire Department in New Gloucester for over 50 years rising through the ranks from Fireman to Lieutenant Captain, and Deputy Chief. He also was a Deputy Fire Warden and served on the Board of Trustees. Ed also served on Planning Board, Budget Committee and was a S.A.D. 15 Director. Ed was also a Member of Cumberland Lodge No. 12 in New Gloucester.
Survived by daughter; Deb Emery of New Gloucester, Grandchildren Eric Emery, Michael Emery & Sherri Emery, Former Son In Law Dean Emery and his companion Maureen Duggan, Several Nieces and Nephews. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Frances Cole Lowe (2004) and Two Sons, Stephen Lowe (1973) and Peter Lowe (2014), Two Brothers, Roy Lowe and John Lowe.
