AUBURN — Beatrice M. Ellis, 95, a resident of Montello Heights Retirement Center in Lewiston, died early Thursday morning, April 20, at The Hospice House with her family at her side.
She was born in Limestone on July 17, 1921, one of 10 children born to Frank and Mary (Bellefleur) Sirois. A resident of Edgewater, Fla., for most of her life, she has resided in Lewiston since 2012. She was married to Raymond Ellis, who predeceased her.
Beatrice worked in the restaurant industry her whole life as a waitress until her retirement. She thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and traveling all over the United States in the motor home she and Raymond owned for many years. Beatrice was a loving, devoted and hard-working wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She leaves her son, Ronald Morin and his wife, Suzanne, of Lewiston; her granddaughter, Lisa Whitman and her husband, Jeffery, of Auburn; her two great-grandchildren, Brendan Whitman and Breya Whitman, both of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, four sisters and five brothers.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at both the Montello Heights Retirement Center and The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the care and compassion she received during her illness.
