LEWISTON — Dale R. Willits, 63, passed away of a prolonged heart condition Sunday, April 23, at Central Maine Medical Center of Lewiston.
He was born April 9, 1954, in Miami, Fla., to Ralph and June (Pullen) Willits of Florida. Dale was a long-term member of 12-step recovery programs, who enjoyed his friends and meetings. He enjoyed life, through outdoors recreation, dining out and going to weekend getaways. He worked 30 years at Progressive Distributors in Winthrop and graduated in the Class of 1972 at Hialeah High School, of Hialeah, Fla.
He joined his father, Ralph Willits in heaven.
He is survived by his mother, June (Pullen) Willits; and sister, Leslie Newmans; his son, Matthew Willits (Fort Drum, N.Y.) and significant other, Vikki, and his grandson, Logan A. Willits; his daughter, Caitlin “Caitie” Willits of Augusta; his fiancée, Susan Marchetti; along with her son, Ryan and wife, Angie Marchetti, and sons, Sam and Gabe, whom Dale loved as his own.
