NEW BERN, N.C. — William Piper Rounds, 78, of New Bern, N.C., passed away peacefully while surrounded by family Wednesday, April 26.
Bill was born Jan. 11, 1939, to parents Clifford and Mary Ella Rounds and lived throughout his childhood in Farmington. He and Nancy were married on April 28, 1962, in Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J., and lived in Ramsey, N.J., for over 30 years. Bill loved golf, model railroading, and was a great skier and competitive ski jumper in his youth. Every summer he enjoyed spending time with family at his lakeside cabin in Wilton.
He was a graduate of Farmington High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Glenn) Rounds; their three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bob Gerull, Susan and Eric Wroldsen, and Kim Rounds and Rich Bachmann; Bill’s 10 grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Glenn Stowe; and his brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary Lee Rounds.
