GREENE – Grace “Eileen” Stevens, 79, a resident of Greene, passed away on Saturday, April 29, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn.
She was born March 12, 1938, in Auburn, the daughter of Walter Channell and Muriel (Jillson) Channell. Eileen was a 1956 graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn and continued her education at Central Maine General (CMG) in Lewiston in the study of radiologic technology. She worked at Central Maine Medical Center in the X-ray department for many years, and later managed Central Maine Imaging Center for 18 years before she retired in 2006.
On Feb. 4, 1961, she wed her best friend, Lawrence Stevens, and they remained married for 56 years. They made their home in Greene, where they raised their daughters, Kelly and Erin. Her greatest joys in life were spending time at her camp, and being with her family and her dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Stevens of Greene; her eldest daughter, Kelly Haskins and her husband, Ken, of Auburn; her youngest daughter, Erin Foglietta and her husband, Michael, of Turner; grandsons, Tyler Haskins, Justin Foglietta and his wife, Charlotte, and Joshua Foglietta; and great-grandson Kingsley Foglietta.
