PORTLAND — Jennie E. Curato, 97, formerly of Oxford Avenue in Rumford, and most recently the Chapman House in Auburn, passed away Wednesday, May 3, at the Barron Center in Portland.

She was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on April 29, 1920, a daughter of Bruno and Rose (Samarco) Buccina.

Jennie was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1937.

She was employed for several years with Oxford Paper Co. and later employed as a sales clerk for 24 years at the Delle Shop in Rumford.

Jennie was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior.

She loved cooking, reading and wood refinishing.

Surviving are her sister, Ann Tripp of Portland; a brother, Joseph Buccina and wife, Olga, of Rumford; sister-in-law, Hazel Buccina of Falmouth; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Dominic; a son, Mark; four sisters, Mary Sullivan, Rose McInnis, Elizabeth Melanson and Nancy Martin; and a brother, James “Jim” Buccina.
