LEWISTON — Dale C. Strout, 58, of Lewiston died Monday, May 1, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his loving family by his side, following a short illness.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 11, 1959, the son of Reginald and Patricia (Hendricks) Strout and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He was employed at Lebel’s Heating and Sheet Metal in Lewiston for over 35 years as a tin knocker.

He enjoyed restoring his vehicles, which were known as his “Bad Boys,” boating at Range Pond, snowmobiling and spending time at his camp in Avon.

“Mista” as everyone would call him, touched a lot of people’s lives and was always willing to help someone in need and was proud to be in his “circle” of friends.

Dale’s pride and joy was his one and only daughter, Dayla, and his grandchildren, Jacob and Lauren.

He is survived by his father, Reginald Strout and his wife, Sue, of Strong; his daughter, Dayla Strout, of Auburn; a stepdaughter, Katie Lavoie; two grandchildren, Jacob and Lauren Hodgman, both of Auburn; three step-grandchildren; five brothers, Reginald Strout Jr. and his wife, Claire, of Lewiston, Brian Morris and his wife, Athena, of California, Dean Strout of Oxford, Scott Strout of Oxford and Dwayne Morris of Maine; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who were very special to him.

He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Hendricks.
