Three concerts at Bates College showcase the renowned Momenta Quartet and music by Maine composers. Momenta opens the series with music by Beethoven; Arthur Kampela, visiting artist at Bates; and others at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 12. Momenta is among instrumentalists performing compositions by students and professor Bill Matthews in the Senior Thesis Concert, 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 13. Matthews, Bates colleague Hiroya Miura, and peers present work in the Maine Composers Concert, 2 p.m., Sunday, May 14.
