NORWAY — Geraldine Pierce DeShon, 80, of Norway passed away on Wednesday, May 3, at Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

Geraldine was born on November 11, 1936 the daughter of Floreston and Wilma Pierce of West Paris. She married James Eugene DeShon on December 31, 1952. She graduated from Oxford Hills High School night school program in 1972. She along with her husband cared for foster children for many years. Together, she co-owned with her husband, Trap Corner Store in West Paris and Mole Hole Knoll in Oxford. She moved with her husband from Oxford in 2000 to Ryerson Hill in South Paris. They wintered in Ocala, Florida. In 2010 she moved to Oxford Meadows. Geraldine loved to play bingo and liked to do ceramics with her sister-in-law Yvonne. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris. She loved country music, traveling and going to the casino’s.

She is survived by one son, James DeShon, Jr. and wife Debby of South Paris; three daughters, Darlene Bean and husband Brian of South Paris, Pamela Payne and husband Randy of Oxford and Bethany Card and husband Richard of Oxford; nine grandchildren, Shannon Avery and husband Scott of Casco, Kacie Hussey and partner Tobin Maldovan of Pittston, Alan DeShon of Norway, Jennifer Wilkins of Alabama, Manda Payne and partner J. J. Tracy of Buckfield, Rodney Payne of Oxford, Miranda Payne of Norway and Richard Card and Aaron Card of Oxford; seven great grandchildren, Tyler and Payson Avery of Casco, Elizabeth and Cooper Wilkins of Dolthan, Alabama, Joslyn and Elias DeShon of Norway, Kassidy Delano of Oxford and Fin Patrick Maldovan of Pittston; three sisters, Alice Keddy of Gorham, Nina Hayes and husband Tommy of Shelburne, N.H., and Maxine Roak of Waterford; one brother Maurice (Bud) Pierce of Brewer; and many nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was predeceased by her husband James Eugene DeShon, Sr. in 2013; her mother Wilma Kimball Pierce; her father Floreston Pierce; a sister Lucille Pierce; and brothers Elwin Pierce, Franklin Pierce, Myron Pierce and Floreston Pierce, Jr.
