HUDSON, FLA. — Alvin George Gallant, 90, of Rumford, died Monday, May 7, in Hudson, Fla.
Alvin was born in Rumford on March 18, 1927, to Frank and Rose (Martin) Gallant. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1945 and also worked for the Rumford Fire Department, Carrier Oil Co. and H.P. Hood. He also owned and operated the South Rumford Market.
Alvin is survived by his son, George Gallant, and his wife, Catherine; daughter, Rose Marie, and her husband, Farmin Cruz; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Jeanne; and siblings Louis, Frances and Edwin.
