MONMOUTH — Friends of Cumston Public Library will welcome spring at the 32nd annual May Faire from 9 a..m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, on the lawns, porches, Caucus Room, Reception Room and front parking lots of Cumston Hall, Main Street.

There will be perennials from local gardens and flowering annuals in the plant sale. Monmouth Museum will sell collectibles and oddities, new and old, in the newly restored Reception Room of the library. Lobster rolls will be available under the archway, with a seating area. The Junior Fire Department will offer hamburgers and hot dogs.

The United Church’s bake table will offer pies, quiches, bars and cupcakes. Used books will be available in the Lower Level and outside on the porch. Vendors’ stalls will sell crafts, embroidery, weaving, books, fabric, jewelry and doll clothes.

Activities will include making masks and noise-makers at 11 a.m. They will be used for a parking lot parade scheduled for 11:30. Additional activities during the day will include wand-making for May fairies, gnomes and other sprites, as well as chalk art and face-painting.

A performance of “The Tale of Princess Kaguya” will be presented by the Theater at Monmouth at noon, with free admission for May Faire customers.

All proceeds support programs and projects of Cumston Public Library.
