BOSTON, Mass. — Diane Patry, 66, died Friday, May 5, after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Lewiston on June 14, 1950, the daughter of the late Francis and Paulette Patry. She graduated from Lewiston High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minn., then attended the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston.

After a number of fascinating years working for researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital, Diane explored Boston’s varied job options working as a temp replacement at many different companies, finally settling as John Hancock Mutual Funds (now ManuLife). There she spent 26 years working with many groups across the organization including institutional marketing, portfolio managers, and senior management. She retired last summer as an administrative coordinator for Manulife’s Investment Risk and Quantitative Analytics Team.

Diane is survived by her sister, Louise Beecher, of Madison, Conn.; her stepbrother, Richard Legendre and his wife, Joan, of Auburn; and her cousin, Edward Couture, of Lewiston. She is also survived by two nephews, Francis Beecher of Chesterfield, Mo., and William Beecher of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and three nieces, Kathleen Legendre Bianco of Orland Park, Ill., and Lisa Legendre and Rachel Legendre, both of Lewiston.
