PORTLAND — Jehovah’s Witnesses will hold the annual three-day convention beginning at 9:20 a.m. Friday, May 26, at the Cross Insurance Arena. This year’s theme is “Don’t Give Up!” All are invited.
Friday: By means of short talks and videos, how the Bible helps people endure through problems such as advancing age, mistakes, chronic illness, and the loss of a loved one will be explained.
Saturday: Attendees can learn how God comforts those who are depressed, as well as how people can build strong families.
Sunday: Attendees can hear explained, in a talk designed especially for the public, Jeremiah’s words that God is “thinking toward us thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give us a future and a hope.”
Each afternoon, a segment of a three-part feature-length film, “Remember the Wife of Lot,” will be shown. Admission is free, and no collection will be taken.
For the next three weeks, Jehovah’s Witnesses will extend personal invitations to everyone in Maine and large sections of New Hampshire and Vermont to attend the convention.
