OXFORD — An 84-year-old man turning into his driveway Sunday afternoon was struck from behind by a truck and careened into his own house, according to police.

“The Jeep was turning into its driveway and got rear-ended, which caused it to shoot off into the house and then into the deck,” Oxford police officer Zachary Bisson said.

The crash happened at 3:46 p.m. at 636 Main St.

Homeowner Sidney Linscott, driving a 2012 Jeep Patriot, and Frank Poussard, 40, of Paris, driving a 2010 Chevy pickup, were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Both drivers were alone in their vehicles. One person was inside the home and uninjured.

Bisson said it was too early to know the extent of the damage to the house, car, deck and a ramp to the house.
