FARMINGTON – Bernard A. Roy, 91, a resident of Livermore, passed away Sunday, May 14, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation & Living Center.

He was born on April 1, 1926, in Livermore Falls, the son of Armand L. Roy and Aurore (Bernard) Roy. He attended schools in Jay. He served in the U.S. Navy from June 8, 1944, to June 10, 1946. Bernard married Marjorie Perkins and they made their home in Livermore. Marjorie passed away in 1981. He worked at International Paper as fire chief at the Otis and Androscoggin Mills and retired in 1987.

Bernard was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. He was a member of the Lane-Dube AMVETS Post 33 in Jay, George Bunton American Legion Post 10 in Livermore Falls, and he was a member and former Commander of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 in Jay.

He is survived by his brother, Dennis Pineau; nieces, Angela Roy Smith and husband, Douglas, of Jay, Alexis “Lucky” D’Ascanio and husband, Mike, of South Casco, and Terry Hartley and husband, Bill, of Kittery; and stepsister, Marie Marchetle of Jay.

He was predeceased his parents; his wife, Marjorie Roy; his companion, Dorothy Heart; brother, Eugene V. Roy; a sister-in-law, Theresa Roy; and a niece, Jacqueline Roy Bayer.
