WILMINGTON, N.C. — Joan Marie Boulay-Giles, 55, of Randleman, N.C., was taken home by the Lord on Saturday, May 13, at 4:20 pm at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C., after a short illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 14, 1961, the daughter of Joan (Pery) Boulay and Normand Boulay. She attended Sacred Heart and St. Dominic high schools. She also took classes at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College.

Joan was a fun-loving, kindhearted person. Her family and friends were her passion. She was loved by all whose lives she touched; she left a special mark on their hearts. Joan loved the ocean, camping, bonfires, music, dancing, playing cards and being with family.

She was employed at Dunkin’ Donuts for many years. She also became a volunteer driver with Community Concepts Inc.

She is survived by her son, Jeremy Boulay; her mother, Joan Boulay; father, Normand; stepmother, Giselle Boulay; two sisters, Carol Coburn and Patricia Boulay; three brothers, Frank Boulay, Donald and his wife, Ralana Boulay, and Normand and his wife, Joline Boulay; two stepbrothers, Marc Levesque, and Kim and his wife, Dorothy Levesque; one stepsister, Christina and her husband, Timothy LaFrance; six nephews; seven nieces; three great-nieces; five great-nephews; and numerous loving friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved aunt, Jeanine Kehn; cousin, Daniel Giguere; and nephew, Benjamin Boulay.
