BRUNSWICK — Elaine M. Colson, 53, of Bowdoin, with the mercy of our Lord and with her family at her side, passed to her eternal home with Jesus peacefully from her brief battle with cancer Wednesday, May 10, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

She was born in Camden on Sept. 4, 1963, but lived most of her life and attended schools in Lisbon. She was the daughter of Charles Colson Sr. and Helen Joy Mylen.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1603 and a great supporter of veterans’ causes. It was there she grew to love an elderly lady she called Grandma and kept her supplied in homemade bread and butter pickles. Elaine spent a lot of her time alone at home because her friends were endless on the internet. They went from Maine to Texas and beyond, some of which she would take vacation time to meet in person.

She enjoyed cruising on a private boat with some friends and making visits with some great folks in Florida. Also a visit to some friends in New York who met her at the airport with a school bus decked out for the Christmas parade. Elaine liked to laugh and make others laugh. To her online friends she was known as Lainey Cee. She enjoyed being a rider on a motorcycle, and most of all she loved her family. She liked the times spent eating lobster with mom, and for the last few years enjoyed Jenny’s two little girls who lived in the same house. She helped her sister Deb plan huge family parties.

She loved country music and the awards and was a big fan of the “Survivor” series. One of her greatest loves was her dog, Zeus, the one dog that was only hers. She did waitress work at Mario’s Restaurant and Captain’s Lady in Lisbon Falls. At the time of her death and for the last 20 years, she was employed by Napa Auto Parts in Topsham, where she started doing deliveries and then office work.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Hennessey, of Mexico; granddaughter, Katie, of Livermore Falls; and grandson, Kaine, of Mexico; her father, Charles D. Colson Sr., and his wife, Samantha, of Bowdoin; her mother, Helen Joy Mylen, of Lisbon; sister, Debra Colson-Bernier and husband, Carl, of Lisbon; brother, Charles Colson Jr. and wife, Susan, of Lisbon Falls; brother, Jeffrey Colson and wife, Hope, of Vassalboro; sister, JennyLee Colson of Bowdoin; her twin brother, Jason Colson, with his wife, Alyshia, of Bowdoin; sister, Stacey Cobb, and husband, Joe, of Lewiston; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
