LEWISTON — Wesley E. Darling Sr., 83, a former resident of Sabattus, passed away Tuesday evening, May 16, at Marshwood Nursing Home with his loving family surrounding him.

He was born in Sabattus on May 20, 1933, the son of Irving and Hazel Burnham Darling. Wesley attended Sabattus schools and worked as a long-haul truck driver and also as a car salesman at “Robert O. Mace.” Wesley enjoyed dealing with cars.

He is survived by nine sons, Danny Darling and his wife, Linda, of Vermont, Charles Darling and his wife, Patty, of Wisconsin, Michael Darling and his wife, Donna, of Buckfield, Donald Darling of Auburn, Ronald Darling, Roderick Darling and Tom Darling all of Buckfield, Jeff Darling of Virginia, John Darling of Lewiston; six daughters, Mary Ann Charter and husband, Steve, of Poland, Jenny Darling of New Gloucester, Cheryl Cote of Auburn, Judith Darling of Sabattus, Robin Darling of Lisbon, Deanna Darling of Buckfield; two sisters, Donna Lee Woodman, of Monmouth and Constance Bowen of Lewiston; 36 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; a special thank-you to his nephew, Stanley Crowley Jr., and sister, Donna Woodman, who were at the nursing home every day.

He is predeceased by his parents, two sons, Wesley Darling Jr., Gerald Darling; three sisters, Laura Cloutier, Roberta Ridley, Christine Ayer; two brothers, Lawrence and Everett Darling.
