BROWNFIELD — Police have named Gail Sumber, 80, of Hiram as the person killed in a car crash on Route 113 on Friday afternoon, WGME reported.
Sumber was a passenger in a car driven by James Biggs, 70, of Hiram that nearly struck head-on a car driven by Melissa Lavin, 40, of Bangor.
Channel 13 reports that Biggs and Lavin were taken to the hospital Friday in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
It happened at about 2 p.m. on a section of Route 113 known as Pequawket Trail, near the Maine border. Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt. The road was closed for nearly four hours for emergency crews and crash reconstruction.
