LOVELL — Da Capo, a talented group of singers from the Mt. Washington Valley, led by Mary Bastoni and accompanied by John Waldie opens the summer concert season at The Brick Church at 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 2.

The group is performing a new repertoire of jazz standards, Broadway tunes, rock and pop hits including songs by Bob Seger, Journey, Darmon Meader, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel and the Beatles, just to name a few.

This group was formed in 2008 as a group to entertain and bring diverse musical styles to the Mt. Washington Valley. Da Capo has great energy and sound, under the artistic direction of Mary Bastoni, who has led the group since the fall of 2015.  Da Capo will perform both accompanied and a cappella versions of familiar songs.  Da Capo is entertaining for audiences of all ages, providing a polished sound and lively movement.
Other summer offerings at the Brick Church include: the dynamic Mary Bastoni singing songs by 20th century women, the popular jazz, folk and blue grass sounds of Heather Masse and Jed Wilson, the surprising and entertaining piano music of Dan Moore, old-time music for the young-at-heart for Miss Maybelle and Slim Pickens, the Bradley Jazz Collective  performing creative interpretations of jazz standards, as well as original pieces.  The summer season will conclude with the Celtic, folk and gospel tunes of Birds on a Wire.

Once again through the support of the Sear Family Foundation,  the Lovell Brick Church will also offer a children’s summer theater week with Mary Bastoni during the month of July.  More information on the BCPA schedule may be found at www.lovellbrickchurch.org.

The Lovell Brick Church for the Performing Arts is located on Christian Hill Road.  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.  Tickets may be purchased at the door. FMI: call 207-925-1500 or go to the BCPA website at www.lovellbrickchurch.org.
