She was born in Sabattus, Nov. 6, 1933, the daughter of Edward I. and Florence Smith Gayton. She attended local schools in Sabattus and in 1951 married Gerald Tarr of Lisbon Falls, the love of her life.

She is survived by her two children, Darlene Tarr and Gerald “Jerry” Tarr Jr. and his wife, Sherry, all of Lisbon Falls; sisters, Sharon Lewellyn of Florida, and Sheila Lavallee of Lisbon Falls; brothers, John Gayton of Sabattus, and Donald Gayton of Connecticut; grandchildren, Ben, Ashley and husband, Dan, and Kim; and great-grandchildren, Ariana, Kayla, Kassidy, Landon, Ben and Liam.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald, in 2004; great-grandson, Gabriel; and by 15 siblings.

We want to extend special thanks to the staff at Russell Park Manor for the love and care they gave her for the last year of her life.
