LIVERMORE — Selectpersons were told Tuesday night that there are three separate ballots for municipal, school and state elections June 13.

Absentee ballots will be available during business hours at the Town Office beginning Thursday, June 1.

After the office closes Thursday, all equipment will be disconnected, furniture will be moved and the old carpet taken out. It is expected to take two or three hours for the new carpet to be put down Friday morning.

Selectpersons said the office will be open, but customers may experience longer waits.

Administrative Assistant Amy Byron said a workstation will be set up in the Conference Room with access through the fire station. The town’s assessor, Paul Binette, will also be using the Conference Room on Friday morning.

Byron said Mondays and Fridays are typically the busiest days of the week. This week is also the first Friday of the month, which is usually extra busy with new car registrations, those who forgot to register their car last month and residents on fixed incomes making payments, she said.

“We’ll be open for those that need to do business. People should know that’s not the best day to show up,” Selectman Tom Gould said.

In other business, the board voted to enter into an agreement with eWaste Recycling Solutions of Auburn, as long as their prices don’t change.

Transfer Station Director Juanita Bryant contacted eWaste and North Coast Services of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to get quotes for recycling. The town’s agreement with Oxford County Regional Recycling is ending and a new company needed to start July 1.

Bryant said eWaste will charge residents for some items which are now free. Laptops, air conditioners and mercury devices are some of those items.

“The biggest difference in the two companies is eWaste doesn’t have a pickup charge. North Coast charges $45 per hour,” she said.

Bryant said the eWaste prices she has are for June and she wanted to confirm they would remain the same.

Because of elections June 13, selectpersons will meet Monday, June 12, at 6:30 p.m.
