Several towns in and around Oxford Hills will hold elections for selectmen, school directors and other offices June 13, with polls open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Buckfield

There are two candidates for a three-year term for selectman and assessor in Buckfield. Del Dunn and Tina Brooks are vying for the seat held by Chairman Warren Wright, who opted not to run again. 

On Tuesday, May 2, Wright and Selectman Maida DeMers-Dobson accepted, with regret, Selectman Michael Iveson’s resignation, effective June 30. There are two years left on the term.

Running for director on the Regional School Unit 10 board is  incumbent Jerry Wiley for a three-year term.

Harrison

There are two seats available on the Harrison Board of Selectmen and Board of Assessors, each for three years. Matthew Frank is running again, along with former Selectman Richard Sykes, and Henry Hudson, Charles Parrott and Ray Simoglou. Selectman Richard St. John opted not to seek another term.

For the Appeals Board, incumbent Jonathan Whitney is running unopposed for a five-year term.

There are two open seats on the Planning Board — one for three years and the other for two years. No one has taken out nomination papers for them, Town Clerk Melissa St. John said. However, she said two outgoing members would serve if they are elected by write-in: Barbara Varricchio for two years and Richard St. John for three years. 

Norway

Two candidates are running unopposed for two Norway selectmen seats, each for three years. Incumbent Warren Sessions Jr. and former Selectman Mike Twitchell submitted nomination papers.

Twitchell served on the board from 2010 to 2016.

Bill Damon, who has served off and on since 1987, did not take out nomination papers for another three-year term.

School Administrative District 17 Director Michael Marshall is running unopposed for another three-year term.

David I. Porter and Thomas C. Webster are seeking two seats on the Norway Memorial Library board of trustees.

Oxford

Three candidates are vying for the selectman’s seat being vacated by Roger Jackson. 

Dana Dillingham, Mark Blaquiere and Ed Knightly have filed nomination papers.

David Dunn is seeking re-election to the SAD 17 board of directors.

William Frye Jr. is seeking re-election to the Oxford Water District board of trustees.

Paris

There are two seats open on the Paris Board of Selectmen, each for three years. Janet Jamison and Kathy Richardson are seeking re-election, along with Economic Development Committee Chairman John Andrews and Economic Development Committee Vice Chairman Gary Vaughn.

George “Buddy” Coffren and Henry Raymond are seeking re-election SAD 17 directors for another three years.

Ray Lussier and Matthew Dieterich are running for re-election to the Paris Utility District board of trustees for three years.

All polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13.

Buckfield: Town Office, 34 Turner St.

Harrison: Town Office, 20 Front St.

Norway: Fire Station, 26 Danforth St.

Oxford: Public Safety Building, 701 Main St.

Paris: Fire Station, 137 Western Ave.
