FARMINGTON — A Wilton man is accused of driving under the influence Wednesday night after his vehicle crossed over into the opposite lane on Town Farm Road and collided with a Poland Spring tanker-truck.
Benjamin Reeves, 32, was driving south on the road towards Strong. He failed to keep in the proper lane and struck a truck heading north that was driven by Diane Tripp, 45, of Harrison, according to Stephan Bunker, an assistant to the Farmington Police Department. Bunker was reading from officer Jesse Clement’s accident report.
Neither driver was hurt.
Clement arrested Reeves on a charge of operating under the influence, Bunker said.
Both Reeves’ Dodge Avenger and the Poland Spring truck were towed from the site, Bunker said.
Farmington Fire Rescue Department assisted at the scene.
Reeves was taken to Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington. He posted $250 cash bail and was released Thursday morning, according to an arrest log.
He is scheduled to appear July 25 at a Farmington court on the charge.
