AUBURN —  Madeline Chartier Michaud, of Auburn, 91, passed away on Friday, May 26, peacefully at AHCH Hospice House, previous resident of Chapman House.

She was born in Presque Isle, daughter of Joseph and Ida Dufour Chartier. She worked many years in local shoe factories and retired from Geiger Brothers in 1990. Known by most as “Mem” and enjoyed spending time with family, camping at Riverbend, golfing, puzzles and playing cards.

Predeceased by husband, Larry Michaud. Survived by daughters, Linda Stone of Lewiston, Pat Lajoie and husband, Lenny Lajoie, of Florida, always thought of as another daughter, Eileen Gagnon Letourneau and wife, Julie, of Lewiston; granddaughters, Andrea Stone of Connecticut, Stacy Lajoie Edell and husband, Travis Edell, of Florida, Heather Lajoie McCloskey and husband, Sean McCloskey, of Florida; great-grandchildren, Colby and Skylar Edell, Kayla McCloskey and soon-to-be Hannah McCloskey; survived by four brothers, Joseph “Babe”, Robert, Richard and Albert.

Predeceased by six siblings, James, Donald, Wilfred, Edward, Leona and Florence.
