LITCHFIELD — The Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival is set for Jun 14 to 18 at the Litchfield Fairgrounds, 30 Plains Road.

Blistered Fingers and the Bluegrass Music Association of Maine have gotten together to create a free, relaxed, informative program for children ages 6 to 18, called the Blistered Fingers Kids Academy. The focus is how to play, sing and perform bluegrass music. Students will bring their own instruments and will commit to the three-day program. Students get a Free T-shirt and perform a couple of songs as a group on the main stage. 

The gates will open at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 12. Weekend tickets for each festival will cover four days of music and camping, from Wednesday to Saturday, and Sunday Morning Gospel Sing-Along and Jam.

There will be several types of vendors on the grounds.

Performers are:

The Gibson Brothers (NY) and Little Roy & Lizzy Long (GA) on Saturday; The Boxcars (TN) on Friday; The Deer Creek Boys (VA) on Thursday and Friday; Blue Mafia (IN) on Wednesday and Thursday; and Bluegrass Diamonds (NB) on Friday and Saturday.


Also, the Baker Family (MO) on Thursday and Friday; Zink & Company (MA) on Saturday; The Misty Mountaineers (ME) on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; Back Woods Road (ME) on Wednesday and Friday; Bluegrass Gospel Sing & Jam (MA) on Sunday; and Blistered Fingers (ME) on Saturday.

Children younger than 16 are free with a paying adult; dogs passes are $10.

Early-bird camping Sunday, Monday and Tuesday is $10 per day, per camper. All four days with free camping costs $90; Wednesday only is $15; Thursday only is $20; Friday only is $35 and after 5 p.m. it’s $25; Saturday only is $35 and after 5 p.m. is $25; Sunday is free with weekend pass.

Power is $35 for the entire stay.

Directions to the grounds are on the fliers or on the website. The festival grounds have a big stage, 18 female and 18 male indoor bathrooms, four free hot showers and numerous water hookups throughout the grounds, and electrical hookups.
