FARMINGTON — Police charged a local man Friday night after cocaine was found in his possession at the Lucy Knowles Road residence where he lives, Detective Marc Bowering said Monday.
Robert Hunter Jr., 48, of Farmington was arrested on a Class A charge of trafficking in a schedule W drug-cocaine, he said.
Police executed a search warrant at the residence at about 5 p.m. and due to the amount of cocaine found and a loaded firearm found in the vicinity of it, Bowering said Hunter was arrested on the aggravated charge.
He declined to say how much cocaine was discovered.
A conviction on the trafficking charge carries up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Maine State Police assisted the Farmington department.
Hunter was being held on $25,000 cash bail Monday morning.
