Several Orono and Old Town athletes traveled this past weekend Norwell, MA to compete in the 72nd New England Interscholastic Track & Field Championship Meet, with Orono’s Jake Koffman turning in the top performance.

Koffman completed his dominance in the discus this season by winning the event with a toss of 190 feet, one inch. He also finished second in the shot put, with a throw of 59 feet.

The lone other top ten finishers from local schools was Old Town High School’s Oliviah Damboise, who was eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 36 feet, two inches.

Orono boys – 800 meters, Jacob Fandel, 20th, 1:58.25; 300 meter hurdles, 15th, Stephen Nelson, 40.53; 4×100 meter relay, Orono (Stephen Nelson, Braeden Selby, Adam Vazquez, Tony Maney), 27th, 46.08; 4×400, Orono (Selby, Fandel, William O’Neill, Nelson), 27th, 3:39.01.

Old Town girls – Pole vault, Damboise, 24th, 9 feet.
