 Get your steps in

“We want to encourage people to take advantage of LA’s abundant free parking —in Lewiston at the garage on Lisbon Street next to the Chamber offices and very close to our new Pop Up Photo Op at the corner of Cedar, Louise Rosen, director of LA Arts said. All Lewiston public parking is free after 6 p.m. In Auburn there’s loads of free parking in Great Falls Plaza and at City Hall,” she said, adding, “Art- walkers can start their route at the Lewiston or Auburn ends and make a loop to see the Art Walk locations in both cities. Good for 10,000 steps and the reward of a cold drink and a nice meal at the end.”

Making family art

We’re excited to have families participate in our ‘Community Masterpiece’ which will be an ongoing, summer-long art project,”  L/A Arts Program and Events Manager Jess Lauren Lipton said.  “The community will be working on it at each Art Walk and each of the Midweek Movie Nights throughout the summer. We’ll unveil the complete work at our September Art Walk,” Lipton said.

Student art shows

This month there will be exhibits of student work in three locations: “Inspired by Ashley Bryan,” from the Lewiston Middle School 21st Century Program will be installed at the former Lamey Wellehan store on Lisbon Street. New Beginnings will have work on display at the Lewiston Public Library and at One Great Falls Plaza there will be a collection titled, “Hope/Fear,” the work of Auburn Middle School students focusing on destigmatizing mental health issues.

“Be A Masterpiece” pop-up photo booth will be located at the corner of Lisbon and Cedar streets during the Art Walk LA on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
