LEWISTON — Marilyn A. Martin of Lewiston passed away June 10, 2017.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 22, 1941, a daughter of Elwood and Marie Bergeron Doyle. Marilyn attended Monmouth Academy. She then worked in the various mills of Lewiston but was most proud of being a professional weaver at Bates Mill, making the Queen Anne bedspreads. Marilyn loved to fish, especially brook trout fishing. She was a gourmet cook, specializing in French cuisine. She lived her life in the service of others, mainly taking care of her family and extended family, cooking for them, giving special gifts and making sure everyone she loved had exactly what they needed. She also donated monthly to the Christian Children’s Foundation, sponsoring a young girl in need. Whether she was setting up a grandchild in a new apartment, putting together care packages or just having the exact item a person needed at a moment’s notice, Marilyn was a giver until her very last day. She was predeceased by her parents; her two husbands, Daniel Marcous and Wayne Martin; a son, Daniel Marcous Jr.; and a sister, Phyllis Hallowell.

Survivors include two children, Michael Marcous and wife, Sue, of Lewiston, Nancy Robichaud and husband, Chris, of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Joseph Marcous, Maxwell Marcous, Meghan Marcous and Alyssa Robichaud; great-granddaughter, Leana Marcous; stepgrandchildren, Cameron Hart and Madeline Hart; and her beloved cat, Lily. She also had a special place for Gavin and Genevieve Arnold, who were like grandchildren to her.

Marilyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her and will forever be in our hearts.
