Sigrid Sibley is this year’s recipient of the Woman’s Literary Union $500 scholarship. She is pictured above with her mother, Katarina Arvedson, on the right, and Dorothy Bowyer, chairwoman of the Scholarship Committee, in the center. Sibley will begin her studies this fall at University of Southern Maine. She loves music, having been a junior counselor for two summers at Maine’s music camp. While a student at Poland Regional High School she sang in the school’s a capella ensemble and madrigal ensemble. She also plays mandolin, guitar and piano. Upon graduation from USM she hopes to teach music in Maine.
