WILMINGTON, N.C. — Louise Jutras Treadwell Williford, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, at the Hospice House in Wilmington, N.C.

Louise was born and grew up in Auburn. Her father owned and operated Jutras Variety Store on South Main Street in Auburn. She graduated from St. Dominic High School in Auburn in 1962 and from St. Joseph’s College in North Windham in 1966.

After graduation, Louise entered the U.S. Army as a Lt. special operations officer with the Second Psyops Group at Fort Bragg, N.C. After leaving the Army, she remained in the Fayetteville, N.C., area and worked for many years as a social worker in the Womack Army Medical Center.

Louise remained friends with college classmate Barbara Feltes of Portland, who described her as always having a positive attitude in facing life’s ups and downs, someone who liked to have fun, traveled the world, and was open to adventure. She was a pleasure to be around and always compassionate, accepting everyone as they are.

She is survived by her brother, Marc Jutras; granddaughter, Morgan Ramsey; and great-grandchildren, Bentley and Grace Louise Ramsey.

She was predeceased by her parents, Real & Marguerite Jutras; sisters, Gloria & Francoise; brother, Paul; her late husband, William Williford; and daughter, Jeannine Treadwell.
