NORWAY — Margaret Hall Ellsworth, 94, of Oxford passed away June 19 at Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

She was the daughter of Charles M. and Lylia (Brown) Hall, born Sept. 28, 1922, in Oxford and graduating from Oxford High School in June 1939. Margaret worked at Robinson Manufacturing Co. from August 1941 to February 1971. She married Albert “Red” Ellsworth on June 17, 1946. He died May 8, 1984.

She was past president of the Anderson Staples American Legion Auxiliary, where she was a member for 73 years, president of the Lake Thompson Senior Citizens group of Oxford, secretary of the Oxford Historical Society, and member and past president of the Oxford Extension Group. Also, she was a member of the Otisfield Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Margaret was well-known for her German chocolate cake.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor McAllister, who died Jan. 1, 1966, and two brothers, Frederick E. Hall, who died April 21, 1969, and Linwood J. Hall, who died Feb. 21, 1985.
