BERLIN, N.H. — Lionel R. Roy, 81, of Berlin, N.H., passed away Tuesday, June 20, at his home.
He was born in Berlin, N.H., on Sept. 9, 1935, the son of the late Moses and Josephine (Demers) Roy and was a lifelong resident. He had been employed by the city of Berlin Public Works Department for 47 years, retiring in 1997. Lionel was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Family members include his wife of 62 years, Beverly (Ross) Roy of Berlin, N.H.; sons Robert Roy and his wife, Nancy, of Otisfield, Maine, and Richard Roy and wife, Cathy, of East Ryegate, Vt.; daughters Catherine Rouleau and husband, Jerry, of West Milan, N.H., Sue Ladd of Manchester, N.H., and Mary Dakin of Canton, Maine; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers Roland Roy, Alcide Roy and Maurice Roy, all of Berlin, N.H.; sister, Yvette Parent, of Berlin, N.H.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Debbie Roy; and by siblings Lucien Roy, Rene Roy, Annette Chauvette, Doris Roberge and Rita Gagnon.
