HARPSWELL — Joseph A. Derosier, 70, of Harpswell passed away Friday, June 23, at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born in Farmington on March 30, 1947, the son of the late Joseph and Lilliane (Lefevbre) Desrosiers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a Purple Heart recipient serving in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967 with the Lima Company 3rd Battalion, better known as “Ripley’s Raiders.” On March 3, 2001, he married the former Beverley Bryant of Harpswell, who survives him.

He was a member of the VFW Post 1603 of Auburn and American Legion Post 153 of Auburn. Joseph was an avid sports enthusiast including the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He enjoyed being with his family at the ocean, special mornings at The Dolphin Restaurant, where he loved his blueberry muffins. He also liked to socialize with many friends and taking special trips the Harpswell Landfill.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jenny and husband, Richard Rogers, of Gastonia, N.C.; one stepdaughter, Evie and husband, Steve Taylor, of Lewiston; three sons, Fred Norris and his fiancée, Annette Withee, of Palmyra, Joel Caron of Litchfield, and Timothy and his wife, Janelle Caron, of West Hartford, Conn.; 11 grandchildren, Kelsey, Emily, Alanna, Bryant, Jacob, Gavin, Owen, Emelia, Patrick, Logan and Alexandra.
