PARIS — The Paris Public Library is holding a variety of events and activities this summer for children.

The library’s annual summer reading challenge has a bingo theme this year. Each square contains a reading challenge that needs to be completed to “fill” the square. Prizes will be awarded for filling five consecutive squares, for filling half the sheet, and for filling the entire sheet. The challenge ends on Thursday, Aug. 17, with an ice cream sundae party for participants on Saturday, Aug. 19. This year there are bingo sheets available for children, teens and adults.

Through July, the library will offer language and math worksheets for children to try at their grade level. Each Tuesday morning, drawings will be held among the sheets successfully completed in both categories for $5 prizes.

On Tuesday, July 11, the Norway Memorial Library and the Paris Public Library are jointly sponsoring a visit from magician Conjuring Carroll at the Deering Memorial Community Center. The program, for all ages, will start at 2 p.m.

From July 10 through 21, the library is participating in Signum University’s Hobbit Immersion Camp. Participants will read “The Hobbit,” join in online discussions, and do Tolkien-related activities.
