Heritage Society open house 

WEST PARIS — The Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays in July and August, except July 16, at 8 Maple St. 

Society members will help answer questions about Finnish genealogy. 

The museum and gift shop will be open, and refreshments will be provided. The building is handicapped-accessible. 

AMVETS Post 777 to meet

PARIS — AMVETS Post 777, which serves the Oxford Hills, holds monthly meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at the American Legion, 22 Church Street.

Meetings are open to all veterans.

Otisfield parade, pie contest

OTISFIELD — Otisfield is seeking participants for the Fourth of July parade.

Parade line up will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, at Cutler’s field off Route 121 and Casco Road across from Sherwood Drive.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. and is followed by a red, white and blue water salute.

Bakers may submit a pie for the pie contest and baked goods for the bake sale. Pies need to be at the Spurrs Corner fire station by 9 a.m. for judging. Ribbons will be awarded. All pies will be auctioned off. All funds raised are for the Otisfield Volunteer Fire Association.

Refreshments and activities will be held at the Spurrs Corner Fire station on Route 121.

The celebration will be held rain or shine.

MPL draws basket winners

MEXICO — Mexico Public Library has announced the winners of the summer basket raffle.

Baskets may be picked up at the library during open hours.
