AUBURN — Frances M. Flaherty, 90, of 93 Goff St., Auburn, passed in Auburn on Saturday, June 24.

Born in Boston on July 29, 1926, she was the daughter of Germaine Remillard and her stepfather, Albert Landry. She moved to Lewiston at a young age and was a graduate of Lewiston High School. After her graduation, she met and married the love of her life, Terrence M. Flaherty.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a tinner and binder at Geiger Bros. for over 35 years. She loved to knit and crochet, and also ran a business teaching ceramics for many years.

A member of the St. Francis Mission in Greene, she was a devoted woman of faith, and tried to follow Jesus by helping anyone she could. In her younger years, she belonged to the Kris Kringle Klub, made rosaries and knit blankets and hats for newborns at St. Mary’s Hospital. Frances loved her cats and dogs over the years, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Elaine Perkins of Illinois, Leona Tozier of Tennessee, and Nina Jo Rankin of Auburn; a brother, Albert and wife, Addie Landry, of Florida; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her mother, stepfather and husband.
