AUBURN — Betty Balderston will be the guest speaker at the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at The Village Inn, 165 High St.
Balderston is the elder abuse prevention advocate at Legal Services for the Elderly in Augusta. The nonprofit organization has provided free and confidential legal services to Maine residents age 60 and older since 1974.
Her position is focused on raising public awareness about elder abuse and is supported by a one-year grant from the John T. Gorman Foundation.
Prior to holding her current position, Ballderston worked at Legal Services for the Elderly, fighting fraud and abuse as the statewide coordinator for the Maine Senior Medicare Patrol for 15 years.
Lunch is available for $14. Reservations are not required.
