LEWISTON — Mary Ellen (Boulette) Hurlbert, 71, went to be with her God, Monday, June 26, at her home in Lewiston.
Born May 31,1946, the eldest child of Wilfred and Natalie (Reny) Boulette, she was the valedictorian of St. Joseph’s Academy, Waterville in 1964 and graduated with a degree in early childhood education from the University of Maine Farmington in 1989.
She had over 35 years experience working with children in many locations. She was a dedicated woman of faith involved in a variety of church and community projects. They included women’s empowerment, faith building, hunger and homelessness. She will be missed by many.
Surviving family include her sister, Janet Babb; daughters, Martha and husband, Matthew Ingles, Ellie and husband, Michael Gee, and their son, Michael, and Rachel and husband, Kevin Miller, and their children, Ariella, Emily and Gabriel; ex-husband, Harold Hurlbert; and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by longtime friends, Paulette Bailey and Janet Smith and her son, Alex.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Barbara Malia, brother, Richard Boulette, and her daughter, Sarah.
