AUBURN — The Auburn Recreation Department is offering several seniors trips this summer.

Thursday, July 20: Songo River Queen, departing Pettengill Park at 11 a.m. for a two-hour tour of Long Lake at noon. A lunch of Italian sandwiches, chips, dessert and bottled water will be served onboard. Register in advance. Cost of $35 includes boat ticket, lunch and transportation. A stop will be held on the way back at Fielder’s Choice for ice cream, returning by 3:30 p.m.

Friday, July 29: Sawyer Foundation to see the Lorraine Ouellette Trio. Van will leave Pettengill Park at 11:30 a.m., with lunch at Hurricane’s Café at noon, then  to the Sawyer Foundation for the 2 p.m. performance. Cost is $5. The performance is free, but donations are accepted. The van will return by 4 p.m. Register in advance in the recreation office in Pettengill Park. Space is limited.

Tuesday, Aug. 8: Market Basket in Biddeford. Van will leave Pettengill Park at 11 a.m. with lunch at a local restaurant at noon, then to Market Basket. Bring a cooler. The return will be by 4:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for transportation.

Thursday, Aug. 10: Old Orchard Beach. The van will park near the beach, bathrooms and pier. Cost is $10. The van will leave Pettengill Park at 9 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. Register early; space is limited.

Thursday, Aug. 24: Cook’s Lobster and Ale House. The van will leave Pettengill Park at 10 a.m. with lunch at Cook’s at noon, followed by shopping at Land’s End Gift Shop. The van will return by 5 p.m. Register early. Cost is $10.

The trips are available to anyone who is 55 or older, regardless of residency.
