LEWISTON — Jerry L. Sparks, 47, of Lewiston, formerly of Lisbon Falls, died peacefully on Saturday, July 8, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
Born in Puerto Rico at Roosevelt Roads Naval Base on October 24, 1969, he was the son of Julie Sparks O’Hara and the late Jimmie L. Sparks. Jerry attended Lisbon area schools. He worked various jobs, including Stratham Tire, Maine Recycling and construction including roofing and siding. In his youth, he enjoyed ice hockey, motorbike-riding and driving, and music was always a big part of his life.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Julie and stepdad, Terry O’Hara, of Chambersburg, Pa.; brother, Marc Sparks of Lisbon; uncle, Charles Browning of Ohio; his girlfriend, Crystal Dawn Veinott of Lewiston; and many cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the Hospice House of Androscoggin for the outstanding and compassionate care, also Central Maine Medical Center oncology department and hospital for their care during Jerry’s brave and strong battle with cancer. Also many thanks to his friends that stopped by in his last days to share their memories with us.
