LEWISTON — Aloise L. Nelson, 72, of Turner passed away Wednesday, July 12, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Mechanic Falls on June 25, 1945, a daughter of Neva (Towle) Hall and the late Ellsworth Hall. She married Mark Nelson on Oct. 26, 2004, in North Turner. She attended local schools and graduated from Leavitt Institute, She was a school bus driver for the town of Buckfield for three years and then for SAD 52 for 30 years before retiring. Aloise was a past member of the Buckfield school board. She was a huge Red Sox fan who loved gardening everything, but especially flowers. She truly enjoyed baking and was just a natural cook and she had a very special love for her cats. At the end of the day though, it was her family who she had a great devotion to.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Nelson of Turner; her mother, Neva Hall; her children, Jackie Fontaine and husband, David, of Lewiston; Julie Hinkley and husband, Michael, of Florida, William R. Lowell IV and wife, Michelle, of Sumner, Melanie Herrick and significant other, Chris Rousseau, of Lewiston, Dean Nelson and wife, Terry, of Florida; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Hall and Irvin Hall; two sisters, Janice Douglass and Amanda Lowell; sister-in-law Sandra Martin of Auburn.

Aloise was predeceased by her father, Ellsworth Hall; and brother, Keith Hall.
