AUBURN — Mildred Keene Harriman passed away Saturday, July 15, of natural causes at Clover Manor in Auburn.

Mildred “Millie” Harriman was born July 14, 1930, in Camden, and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1948. After graduation she attended the Forcyth School of Dental Hygiene becoming a dental hygienist. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard “Harry” Harriman, on Dec. 9, 1950, and they settled in Lewiston where they raised two children. For 50 years, she and Harry spent most of every summer in Small Point, first at Hermit Island Campground and later at Head Beach Campground, where they met and enjoyed many friends from all around the state and New England. In the past few years, she and Harry had resided at Montello Heights in Lewiston and most recently at Clover Manor in Auburn.

Millie will be remembered for her skill with a needle and thread. She had a passion for sewing and made clothing for both family members and a handful of loyal customers.

Millie is survived by her two children, Gary Harriman of New Gloucester, and Wendy Dostie of Winthrop; five grandchildren, Josephine Harriman, Jerromey George, Jesse George, Spencer Harriman and Aja Dostie; and two great-grandchildren, Aurora and Zander.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; and her parents, Clarence and Ruby Keene.

The family wishes to thank the staffs at Montello Manor, Clover Manor and particularly Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for their time and patience.
