After losing lost to Brunswick in the secondgame, 9-5 putting them into the losers bracket the Andy Valley U11 Cal Ripken team went on to win the state championship. They fought back with the mercy rule on every game thereafter including the championship games. They met Brunswick again  won the first game, 11-1 and the second game, 13-3 to capture the title. They outscored their opponents 89-17 over the course of seven games and had eight home runs.
