AUGUSTA — Our beloved baby brother, David James Guy, 62, of Auburn went to see our beloved Heavenly Father on the evening of Saturday, July 15, at the Togus VA Healthcare Center in Augusta. His sister, Lauraine, had been by his side for two days before his death, playing Jimmy Swaggart hymns. He loved it. His older sister Jane talked to him, and he would blink his eyes. I knew he was hearing everything being said.
He was born in Lewiston on October 12, 1954, to parents Arthur Guy and Rose Anna Morin-Doyon Guy.
David attended Lewiston schools, graduating from Lewiston High School. He worked as a self-employed carpenter.
David enjoyed traveling and fishing on the ocean.
He was predeceased by his father in February 1977; his mother in August 2001; and a special grandnephew, Michael David Chabot.
He is survived by three sisters, Lauraine Doyon of Lewiston, Jane Page of Alhambra, Calif., and Muriel Graan of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Paul Guy; and many many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Debbie Chabot, and nephews, Tommy Chabot and Stephen McBride; and his best friend, Michael Crowley.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
