PARIS — An Otisfield man who led police on a chase, crashed his vehicle and attempted to flee from the scene in April pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Oxford County Superior Court to a litany of charges, including driving to endanger and attempting to elude an officer.

Cody Niemi, 23, was also charged with operating after suspension and probation violation in April.

Police said an Oxford officer attempted to pull Niemi over on Gore Road near the Otisfield town line after discovering his license was suspended. Niemi led police on a short chase before crashing his Toyota Tundra truck into woods off Gore Road and fleeing, Oxford police Lt. Michael Ward said.

Niemi suffered minor injuries to his face.

He is scheduled to reappear in court on Sept. 28 for a dispositional conference.
