First Auburn Seniors to meet 

AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will gather at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, for a regular meeting. The board meeting will be at 10 a.m.

Those attending should bring a bag lunch and coffee cup. Bingo will be played. Dues are still being collected from those who have not paid.

There were 55 members present at the last meeting. Attendance winners were Frank Pippin and Lorraine Raymond; pot of gold, Irene Ledoux, Carol Layton and Larry Castner; and, 50/50, Marry Tassinari, Jeannine Cyr and Diane Vincent.

Pantry seeks book donations 

AUBURN — The High Street Food Pantry is seeking donations of children’s books for infants through teens.

Sabattus graduate awarded scholarship

WESTBOROUGH, Massachusetts — Matthew Strout of Sabattus is among 130 high school seniors to be awarded Cumberland Farms’ Believe & Achieve Scholarship.

Strout is a a 2017 graduate of Oak Hill High School and will be attending Thomas College.

Bridge club lists winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the July North American Pairs on July 24 were, first, Dick Allen and Richard Balian; second, Mike Quinn and Mike True; third, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; fourth, Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin; fifth and sixth tie, Paula Hubbard and Rosemarie Goodwin with Paul Clement and Roger Labbe.

Winners on July 25 were, first, David Lock and Tom Goodwin; second, Sharron Hinckley and Fred Letourneau; third, Marta Clements and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Les Buzzell and David Offer; fifth, Jan and Vern Arey.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcome.
