RUMFORD — June E. Legere, 76, of Canton Point Road, Dixfield, died Sunday, July 30, at the Rumford Community Home.
She was born in Dixfield on March 27, 1941, a daughter of Oscar and Lottie (Knowlan) Knowles and had attended Dixfield schools.
June worked as a shoemaker at Livermore Shoe for many years until retirement. She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John Church; a member of Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club, and the FOE Auxiliary.
She was married in Rumford on April 11, 1959, to Wallace J. “Wally” Legere of Dixfield, who survives her. Other survivors include a daughter, Deborah Martin and husband, Timothy, of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Kara Martin of North Belgrade, and Jacob Martin of Readfield; two great-grandchildren, Logan Nadeau and Parker French of North Belgrade; and a sister-in-law, Linda Knowles of Dixfield.
She was predeceased by her parents.
