WAYNE — Cary Memorial Library will host a morning of loon-themed events from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the library’s Williams House.

The annual Cary Memorial Library 5K Walk/Run will start at the elementary school at 9 a.m.

A bake and book sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a selection of homemade goods, local crafts and ornaments and gently used books and collectibles. Loon cookies will also be available.

A queen-size quilt made by local quilters will be raffled, and there will be a loon craft for children and ongoing local music.

A loon-calling contest will get underway at 11 a.m. All ages are welcome, with prizes in each age category.

A lobster roll lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. under the tent on the library lawn. It will also include chips, pickles, drinks and homemade blueberry cake. An adult option of a chicken salad roll or a children’s option of peanut butter and jelly will be available. Rain setting will be Fellowship Hall at Wayne Community Church. Take-out will be available.

The library’s silent auction items will be on view at the Williams House, Old Winthrop Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
